Oh, hello there!
I’m Jessica, a mama of two toddlers who struggles with the occasional mindless misstep or accidental oversight. I love my kids more than my own life, but I also have days where I consider putting them up for adoption even this late in the game (kidding…kind of). I started this page to not only have a place to write about my toddler trauma, but also to be a respite for mamas who might be going through the same thing. For mamas that need someone else to make the meal plan and write the grocery list. Someone else to bring a sense of humor to daily struggles they may be experiencing as well. So, if you too are a tired mama, then to you, I say: welcome because you are in the right place.
Welcome to my scattered pantry.
Childproofing: an oxymoron.
Child proofing presents an ongoing challenge. Despite thorough precautions, kids inevitably fixate on something they shouldn’t. In my experience with my ever challenging second born, it was the oven light—no amount of distraction could dissuade my little one’s curiosity. Parenthood becomes a delicate balance between safety measures, childlike curiosity and a parent’s sanity.
My Guide to Meal Plans
Meal planning can be intimidating. Especially when you have screaming kids, messes to clean, and a migraine from 10 hours of “he’s looking at me!” So… take some extra strength Tylonel and relax, because I want to do most of the work for you. So, take some extra strength tylonel and relax while I do some of the work for you. Here is a meal planning process, a downloadable guide, and a little peace of mind!
A [Proudly] Cluttered Mama
Hey there! I’m Jessica, the mama behind The Scattered Pantry – a place where chaos meets laughter and kitchen adventures unfold. If you’re my first reader (hey, hubby!) or just stumbled upon this blog in search of some real-world advice, welcome! In my Scattered Pantry, I’m not dishing out expert advice or parenting tips, but I am opening up my kitchen to share practical meal plans, grocery lists, and recipes.
My Favorite Sunday Roast
This is my all-time favorite roast recipe. It comes out perfectly tender every time and it makes the perfect Sunday dinner for any size of family… of course, depending on what size roast you buy! You can use the drippings from the roast as au jus or even gravy with one simple addition of cream of chicken soup. I also like to use the leftover shredded roast as French dip sandwiches on homemade baguettes! Yummy!
